Security Features of the SuperBusinessCheck

The SuperBusinessCheck is the most secure business check in the world. Designed by Frank Abagnale with 15 safety features, the check is virtually impossible to replicate or alter without the fraud being evident. Fully compatible with Check 21 environment, the safety features in the SuperBusinessCheck shown below provide the greatest deterrence to check fraud available in a business check.

Overt Security Features:

Thermochromatic Ink

The back of the SuperBusinessCheck contains a seal printed with thermochromatic (heat-sensitive) ink that changes colors when heated. This thermochromatic seal can be rubbed for instant authentication of the check. Color copiers cannot reproduce the reactivity of thermochromatic ink.

Fourdrinier Watermark

The SuperBusinessCheck contains a Fourdrinier (true) watermark that is pressed into the paper at the mill and is visible from either side when held to the light. This dual-tone watermark provides instant authenticity of the document and is virtually impossible to replicate, copy or scan.

High-Resolution Borders

The SuperBusinessCheck is engineered with intricately designed borders that are difficult to duplicate. High-resolution borders are ideal for covert security because the design often distorts when copied.

Prismatic Printing

The design of the SuperBusinessCheck includes a background of subtle gradations between multiple colors. This level of color distinction is difficult to reproduce on most color copiers.

Explicit Warning Bands

The SuperBusinessCheck has a warning banner that explicitly describes specific overt security features and advises the recipient to look for these features before accepting the check. This warning banner may also deter a forger from "experimenting" with the check.

Chemical Wash Detection Box

The back of the SuperBusinessCheck contains a specially designed box engineered to deter check washing. The check is sensitive to over 80 chemicals, and the box makes chemical tampering instantly evident.

Sequenced Inventory Control Numbers

A sequenced inventory control number is printed on the back of each SuperBusinessCheck. This number is imperative for audit and control purposes. It discourages internal theft when a print log is religiously maintained. Without this safety feature, employees can steal blank check stock with impunity.

Laid Lines

Lines of varying width and spacing are printed on the back of each SuperBusinessCheck to deter cut-and-paste alterations.

Covert Security Features:

Controlled Paper Stock

The SuperBusinessCheck is manufactured using premium-grade security paper. This paper is not available in America, except as the SuperBusinessCheck, making it nearly impossible for a forger to replicate the check. The paper contains a true watermark, is reactive to 85 chemicals, and is extremely tightly controlled.

Fluorescent Ink

Under UV light, the word "AUTHENTIC" appears on the SuperBusinessCheck, which serves to authenticate the check as original.

Fluorescent Fibers

The imported paper used in the SuperBusinessCheck contains ultraviolet light-sensitive fibers that fluoresce under UV light and further serve as an authentication tool.

Chemical Sensitivity

The SuperBusinessCheck reacts to 85 different chemicals. When chemically washed, the SuperBusinessCheck and its chemical wash detection box discolor, and no longer look like the original document.

Toner Anchorage

The SuperBusinessCheck is treated with toner anchorage that bonds the toner onto the paper when printed with a laser printer. Without toner anchorage, criminals can alter laser checks by lifting off the printing with plastic tape.

Copy Void Pantograph

This patented security feature is an indiscernible dot pattern designed into the background of the check. When the check is copied or scanned by most copiers, the word "void" appears and invalidates the copy.

Microprinting

The SuperBusinessCheck contains printing so small that it appears as a broken line or pattern to the human eye. When scanned or photocopied, microprinting will often blur on the copy.
